Pinomatic Oy will be supplying the sawing and packaging lines to Metsä Group’s new Kerto LVL mill in Äänekoski. The order is valued at EUR 11 million.
This delivery will be part of Metsä Group’s EUR 300 million investment that was announced in June 2023. With a yearly production capacity of 160,000 cubic metres, the mill will increase the company’s Kerto LVL production capacity by approximately 50 per cent. The Äänekoski mill is expected to start operating in the second half of 2026.
Pinomatic’s delivery covers the further processing of billets from the hot press into bundles for the customers. First, the LVL panel billets are sanded, cut and split into beams on the line, as well as treated with moisture protection. The beams are then bundled and packaged into protective plastic for transport to the customers.
The delivery is complete with installation and commissioning. It is a continuation to the previous deliveries made to Metsä Group’s production facilities.
The sale marks Pinomatic’s largest delivery to date. Its implementation will combine Metsä Group’s solid expertise in mechanical wood processing with Pinomatic’s innovative solutions and 35-year experience as a supplier of mechanics and automation for further processing in the wood processing industry. The project will employ Pinomatic’s staff for over two years to come.
With 35 years of experience, Pinomatic Oy produces complete deliveries of production lines and devices for the wood processing industry. Its customers include further processors of timber, such as glulam, log house manufacturing, CLT, LVL and plywood factories, as well as door, window, panel and moulding factories. It is a family business that employs 53 people. Approximately 40% of the production is exported, mainly to Central Europe, the Baltic States and South America.
